Lmao that was good. The only sign I’ve ever put up was on a particularly annoying day, people had stopped by my office a total of 11 times by 10:30 AM (get in at 9) and this was during a really busy day in which I had a few deadlines to meet. So I put up a sign that said “SUPER BUSY. Unless there is a zombie apocalypse please send me an email and I’ll get to it as soon as possible”.

I’m kind of meh about it honestly. The wife is really REALLY into it. To me it feels kind of like a Dateline story that got significantly upgraded in quality lol.

I mean, (assuming this is safe you just finished 4, not really giving anything anyhow) it’s just frustrating as fuck to watch how shitty these officials/police act.

That’s a really good way to put it. I will say that I’m not about to be jumping up and down in support of Avery (partly because I haven’t seen the whole thing play out and partly because I’m not that kind of person anyway) but I am also very shocked at how things have gone down on the police/DA side. But then again, should I really be all that shocked at what I’ve seen so far? Sadly, probably not.

I’ve been avoiding it due to an overly agitprop nature. Yes, public officials are worthless sacks of hair and flesh who wrongly convict and get involved in secting scandals, we get that. Trying to convince us that a guy got railroaded twice and leaving out relevant information is simple axegrinding.

I don’t watch any TV like this (mostly just sports, when I do watch), but I read an interesting article the other day in the Washington Post about how The Discovery Channel is trying to return to its roots as a heavy educational channel and produce serious documentaries rather than the tripe they’ve been airing in the last few years. But the article talked about how shows like MAM (Netflix, not TDC) and other true crime shows are really directed at women, since they make up the core audience for those shows.

I am. Quite shocked. Especially giving I have a sister who’s a Sheriff’s Deputy. The majority of cops aren’t crooked. (trust a lawyer as far as you’d like though - haha). The extreme minority are crooked/corrupt, and they sure as hell make the good ones look terrible.

I heard about that article saying DC was going back to being...well...useful. I hope it’s true. I don’t watch normal cable TV anymore though so I pick and choose what I want to watch through my streaming system (think Netflix on steroids for free)

And yet - fantastically incompetent and corrupt systems convict guilty people too. From what I’ve read, a lot of things are left out by the series in aid of occluding that fact, and setting up a (very likely false) narrative that someone innocent was convicted when the failures of the system should stand on their own.

Well, I’m not meaning to say I think all cops are crooked. I grew up around plenty and know that it’s a small minority that are. I am just not so shocked at these guys considering that we know from the beginning that for whatever ridiculous and inane reasoning, they seemed to have it out for him from the get go.

I’d say the part that has shocked me is how the ‘independent’ third party investigators and prosecutors seem to just fall right into it too.

I would love to cut the cord, but since all I watch is sports, I’m stuck for now. If ESPN told me I could stream their content for $100/year, I’d do it in a heartbeat. But with Dish, I have to take over 200 channels of crap I don’t want just to watch football. It sucks.

I didn’t miss a single game I wanted to watch this year.

It may not have been in perfect HD, but I got it and it was free.

If you need the perfect HD ESPN look into Sling TV, not SlingBox, but Sling TV.

Over the internet TV, only 20 bucks a month includes ESPN and ESPN 2

Can even get deals on Amazon TV and Roku’s to watch it through. I watch all my tv through a raspberry pi running Kodi. I get live steams of ESPN, sometimes you gotta work for them though and I know a lot of people would rather just pay the 20 bucks lol

This might just be for iOS I’ve never used an apple TV because, like I said I do everything out of a Raspberry Pi mini computer. If that won’t run on apple TV, just do the option on Sling TV where you pay for 3 months up front and get a free Roku 2 and plug it in.

The sad part is Dish is the creator/owner of Sling TV HAHA

I went from paying 105 a month for cable internet/HD TV (with DVR) down to paying just 20 bucks a month for cable internet (faster even). I also have an antenna with an HR Homerun that sends the antenna signal over my local network so I can stream HD antenna live TV through my Raspberry Pi, Android Smart Phones, Tablets, Laptops etc.

I’m actually starting to consider the Sling TV for 20 bucks. Gets you a lot of quality channels without having to work at it like I do.

I think it’s Dish finally attempting to compete.

Dish has been blocked out of a lot of network deals and had some tough negotiations. It should be cool to see how this works and if they can really get it to be pay for what you want or not.

It’s a really cool option for people who MUST HAVE perfect ESPN. Could pay off big with that network list during the NCAA tournament too....

Differences are new TV for living room, so living room TV went down to family room. I got the 8 port 1000 mbps switch so I have a ton more expandability and I don’t need the TV server anymore because Kodi has embraced HD Homerun and they have an app built in for Kodi.
